A coloring page commissioned by Telos @ Southminster Presbyterian Church; Oxford, MS, March 2018.

My friend Beth pastors this new worshiping community in Nashville. When I asked what she imagined for their Easter Sunday coloring page, she mentioned the idea of baptism as belonging to God’s family through Jesus.

The signs of crucifixion are still there in this image, to remind us of where we’ve been. But they’re not the point of this part of the story. And the river of life coming out of the empty tomb isn’t an orderly one. It’s celebrating as much as the swimmers are, embodying a creating God that can’t be contained.

Good news! (I mean, Christ is risen, but also…) YOU TOO can color this page! 😀

P.S. – It won’t look as pixely when you print it.
